Greetings sweet being. We’re so glad you are here.

Portland Moon Mystics (est. 2020) is held with love by Ariel Hart (she/they) Bree Phillips (she/they) and Heather Day Melgar (She/They) intuitives, energy, breath, sound and movement healing practitioners, plant medicine alchemists, and earth based spirituality guides (see bottom of page for more).

This is an inclusive group for all genders, we believe gender is a limiting social construct. Anyone with the intention to reclaim the sacred, reconnect with mother earth, and birth a new/ancient earth world rooted in sustainability and right-relationship is welcome.

Our free, monthly full moon community ceremony as well as our ticketed events can be found under events here, or on the EVENTS page on Bree’s site.

Do you feel the collective shifts? As we are move away from extractive, exploitive, dominating, colonial, out of balance masculine power we must call in new ways of being and listen to the wisdom of our wise elder selves, pre-colonial ancestors and indigenous way-showers. We are returning to connection and communication with earth as a powerful mother and as a wise sacred being, we are returning to a place of intuition and spirit. Portland Moon Mystics is a brave and supportive space to call in a new earth through magic, moon, community and sacred reciprocity.

Here we cultivate deep connections, to ourselves and this powerful group of mystics. Your gifts and callings are so needed in this time; we are here to support and be supported on our sacred path.

Experience spaces rooted in healing alchemy, right relationship, ritual magic and subtle energetic awareness. We bring intention and gratitude to our gatherings, rituals and ceremonies to invoke the greatest good for ourselves, our collective and this sweet earth.

Here we honor spirit and the earthly plane as one.

We live in a culture that encourages us to disconnect from our bodies, ignore our innate wisdoms, cover authentic ways of being, and suppress our wild nature. The moon reminds us to come home. She shifts sensitivities and awakens our divine intuition.

"Remember who you truly are"

Learn more about who you truly are through experiencing together. Break free from harmful cultural, ancestral, colonial and religious conditioning and shift paradigms, programming, relationships, and behavioral patterns. Anchor into the medicine of your lineage.

Let us co-create sacred space so that we may be a ripple of sacred awareness across this planet. What did you come here to do? What gifts are waiting to be born? We start by showing up for each other in receptivity and growth. You are moon, you are sacred, you are magic. Come as you are. And so it is.

I am Heather Day-Melgar (she/they), and some words I use to identify myself are queer, Pagan, animist, geographer, naturalist, writer, activist, mindful movement instructor, weird plant lady, and witch, and not necessarily in that order!

My whole life has been a journey to touch the truth of what lies beyond the veil, of the Otherworld, that lies directly parallel to our own. My meandering mystical path began in the rural Ozarks of Arkansas, where I spent the first 32 years of my life. A childhood of unexplainable phenomena, precognition, and the paranormal sent me on a journey to find answers. The Ozarks introduced me to the hippie counterculture, Wicca, astrology, Eastern mysticism, magic, and ritual, my ways into the door of a magical life. The feeling of not quite fitting in to my home culture led me to be quite a wanderer, and I fell in love with mindful travel. I noticed that if one treads lightly and respectfully, the land will speak, and share its secrets with you, and the people of that place will make you feel at home. That intense love of land is what led me to animism, and to become a geographer. The original meaning of the word "geography" was one that "walks the earth and studies place." I believe science and magic are two sides of the same coin; they both aim to explain, and interact with, the unseen and unknown. My expertise there is in climate change and the urban ecosystem. I lead monthly native plant walks and guided hikes, because I believe that is where the relationship with nature begins, in simple curiosity and exposure. The plants, the stones, the water, the sky, are all our kin, and always speaking. And as Robin Wall Kimmerer put it, "It is not enough to love a place, we must find ways to heal it."

My journey way out into Eastern mysticism ultimately came full circle, and pointed deeply inward, and down down deep into my own ancestry. I now follow a dedicated Pagan practice from my Celtic lineage. I live my life by the Pagan wheel of the year, and love leading seasonal ritual for the community. I am currently studying with folklorists, poets, and thinkers from my ancestral lands so I can be the best steward of these cultural practices. My ancestral healing work, and leaning into my Celtic earth-based practices, has been important de-colonial, anti-capitalist, anti-empire work. The healing work takes deep and dirty excavation, but witchcraft has always been, and will always be political.
