On Friday October 9th, we will gather under the Libra dark moon at Full Bodied Yoga, from 7-9 pm. The window around the new moon is the dark moon, that which remains hidden, below the surface, shrouded in mystery. The dark moon can be a container to work with our shadow, to plant new intentions, and dive into the deepest depths. At this time, we are well into the darkening season of autumn. It is only natural to feel the pull to work with the unseen, death, decay, and transformation, as what nature is reflecting back to us. Our gardens are dying and returning back to the earth to make new soil for the season to come. How can we tend to our inner gardens?
Libra is a sign that embodies justice, beauty, truth, diplomacy, balance, and the intellect. Both the sun and moon will be sitting in the sign of Libra. This energy provides the perfect container to examine the balancing of our light and shadow, as well as that of the collective. Libra invites us to make peace with our opposites, and to use what no longer serves us as compost for creativity and growth.
This new moon we will call on the medicine of moonflower. Moonflower behaves much like the dark moon, remaining hidden during the day, only to bloom in darkness and in shadow. Moonflower represents the mystery, the lunar cycle, blooming in dark places, as well as forgiveness throughout some cultural folklore.
